Wherein I talk about Korean make-up

Etude House just launched in the Philippines this month. There goes the underground business of the Korean make-up dealers in Multiply. Right now, three (3) Korean make-up/skin care retailers are officially in the Philippines: Skin Food, Face Shop, and Etude House. I think Elianto is also Korean though am not too sure. The  label says that their make-up is made in China but there are also Korean blurbs on the label.

Anyway.

I stumbled upon the Etude House branch in Megamall two nights ago when I was looking for something to buy to break my P1K bill for my fare home. I ended up buying pink eye shadow (yes, I've always wanted to have sparkly pink eye shadow but somehow never got around to buying one.)

Pictured here are Park Shin Hye and Jang Keun Suk, models for Etude House's cosmetics. I think not too many people know about Etude House right now but sales are gonna shoot up next month when You're Beautiful starts showing here in the Philippines via ABS.

Based on the browsing I did the other night, it appears that Etude House's items are cheaper that SF or FS. For instance, they have BB cream selling for just a little over P500. SF and FS BB creams sell for more than P1K. I don't know about the quality of the cream though. Based on the forums I've visited, SF BB creams get the highest points for effectiveness and coverage.

A minus point for the EH branch in Megamall is the sales crew. If you're going to sell expensive make-up (meaning make-up that's not in the same price range as Ever Bilena and the other local brands), you better get  staff who, at the very least, won't make your shop look cheap. There were two girls who looked barely out of their teens just basically ignoring the customers and focused on trying the make-up on their faces. What was especially off-putting was that they talked in loud voices and called each other 'sis' or 'girl'. Uhm, eew!

I promise to be good while in China.

And there's almost 100% chance I'll keep my promise since wala naman fangirling opportunity in Shanghai. Wala akong kilalang artista from Mainland China.
